Art reflects the times, and innovation is par for the course when it comes to “Forging Futures.” The theme alludes to the creation of new language–visual and technical– through a process that breaks down the form of the old, leaving the substance to take on a new shape, as in metal through a fiery forge. Art is its content, as well as medium, is redefined, expanded and renewed.

This year’s participating exhibitors are 371 Art Space, AC 388, Annual Sculpture Review, Art For Space, Artes Orientes, AT Art Gallery, Dry Brush, Espacio Manila, Galerie Artes, Galerie Du Soleil, Galerie Francesca, Galerie Raphael, Galleria Nicolas, G9 Online, Gallery Nine, Historia Arts, M Gallery MNL, Museo de Pacis, Philippine Art Nation, Pugad ni Art, Renaissance Gallery, The Artologist, Village Art Gallery, and Ysobel Art Gallery.

The debut of the phygital on ManilART’s stage bridges the gap between digital and traditional spaces. Digital artworks are minted as Non-fungible Tokens (NFTs) which are valued as extensions or digital prints of the physical piece. Ownership of these NFTs is tied to the blockchain in the form of a crypto work that enables itself to be valued and traded in virtual art galleries and crypto markets.

Now in its 14th year, the National Art Fair continues its onward and upward momentum with the theme, “Forging Futures” this October 19-23 at the SMX Convention Center, SM Aura Taguig. Past years have focused on Visions for a Future Reimagined (2020) and Continuing Legacies (2021) – giving novel approaches a space in well-established traditions.

Arts and culture evolve with the times. Participating in the creation of our cultural landscape, the here and now contribute to chronicling Philippine art history-in-the-making. In 2021, we saw a first look at new technologies alongside traditional media: the art fair was made accessible for online patrons through 360-degree digital walkthroughs, and augmented-reality copies of artworks were presented alongside original physical pieces through a first-ever “phygital” showcase.

ManilART is the flagship activity of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA)’s Museums and Galleries Month (MGM), celebrated every October. On its thirteenth year, ManilART observes the theme “Continuing Legacies,” resuming its regular programming from Oct. 13 to 17, 2021 at the SMX Convention Center, SM Aura Premier, Taguig City.

On its second year over the pandemic and thirteenth year from its inception, ManilART has constantly innovated in its years as the country’s national art fair. In 2021, it returns to its roots with the theme “Continuing Legacies.” This year, ManilART shall take place from October 13-17 at the SMX Convention Center, SM Aura Premier, Taguig City – resuming its regular schedule while keeping updated on the fast-changing current events.

Art, much like life itself, always finds a way. No small wonder there, as art, if it should continue to remain relevant, must find a way to reflect life not only as sources of inspiration, but also in the manner with which works are presented. As a reflection of the times, ManilART2020, which runs from Dec. 9 to 13 at SMX Aura Convention Center in Taguig, has migrated many of its activities online.

ManilART 2020 will run from December 9 to 13. It’s a sign of the times that ManilART2020 has migrated many of its activities online. This is not just for compliance with health guidelines, but also for making art more accessible and responsive in the future.

Now on its twelfth year the national art fair - ManilART - focuses on the role of art and culture as an essential to our identity as people…which necessitates evolution with the times. This year’s theme alludes not just to current contexts and concerns, but also addresses the precautions necessary to ensure a better way moving forward.

The masterpieces of Filipino artists known in different parts of the world are gathered once more for this year's ManilART, now on its 11th year.

As the Philippines' first visual arts fair, ManilART is gearing up once more to demonstrate the world-class talent, skill, and vision of Filipino artists at SMX Aura, Taguig City from October 9 to 13.

Visual arts dynamism has been a key factor in re-establishing the Philippines as a cultural powerhouse in the region. Whether in art shows auctions or even on social media, Filipino artists have been featured prominently. And it is this achievement that is underlined by ManilART, the annual art fair which runs Oct. 12-15 at SMX Convention Center, SM Aura in Taguig City.

This year's ManilArt theme "Raising the Filipino Colors on the World Stage" is a celebration after the Philippines is able to join the prestigious Venice Biennale after so many years of absence. The exquisite glass sculptures by Ramon Orlina will welcome you once you enter the doors of the art fair. Figurative, abstract, kinetic, conceptual, and thought-provoking artworks by respected artists adorn the entire space of the SMX Convention Center.

For the yet to be initiated, Manilart is currently the country's largest visual arts fair, bringing over 40 different art galleries and their respective artists together once a year for a showcase that spans five days.

There were art enthusiasts who headed straight to Leon Gallery's booth that featured masters such as Fernando Amorsolo, Vicente Manansala and José Joya at the ManilArt 2014 annual fair held in Taguig City until Sunday. A New York-based couple that transferred recently to Manila heeded friends who suggested they ask around first before investing in a painting and have their art fix.
